American Airlines offers a number of daily flights to
Santiago. Valle Nevado can organize airport transportation
from and to the airport. Dealing with transportation providers
at the airport can be heavy going — and in Spanish
— so better organize transits prior to departure.
Valle Nevado’s package value is great, especially in
September. Half board with breakfast and dinner, lift tickets,
a 25-minute massage and access to the hotel facilities (gym,
ski room, pool) starts as low as $150 per night at the
Tres Puntas hotel. Add lunch, great wines at dinner and tips,
and you’ll still come away with a very reasonable price.
If you want to ski powder, go in July or August. If you want
to enjoy the ‘mountain-beach vacation’ and the ‘athleteson-the-road
atmosphere,’ head down in September. But
no matter what month you go, you’ll still be skiing in the
sum-sum-summertime. And that beats the hell out of a
